Columns
Columns, 2026, Sculptural furniture, pine, paint.
Columns is a series of sculptural furniture pieces inspired by basalt rock formations and the symmetrical hexagonal columns found in nature. Each modular element is unique and can be combined to create tables of various sizes or used individually as a side table or stool. The modular design and geometric hexagonal form allow the pieces to adapt to a wide range of domestic and public environments, creating functional sculptures that invite play, flexibility, and imagination.
Fabricated from sustainably sourced pine, each piece undergoes a process in which the wood is first charred and brushed to reveal its grain before being finished with high-quality stain and natural oil. This technique highlights the unique character of the material, allowing the wood grain to emerge as a subtle and distinctive pattern across the surface of every piece.
Columns was first presented during NYCxDESIGN 2026 at Silver Art Projects in 4 World Trade Center, New York City, in collaboration with Leon Speakers and Maison Toukkani.
